Sy's story being told and heard

  1. Sy's story in today's Monterey Herald touched my heart. Although you have searched around the country for a miracle treatment, I want to share with you the wonderful success story of a little boy I followed on Caringbridge a few years ago. He is Dillon Paul Clark, and the website is www.caringbridge.org/ca/dillon. He was diagnosed with stage 4 liver cancer that spread to his lungs. Stanford gave up on him after ten months of treatment, but they flew to Seattle Children's Hospital for another opinion. They did not give up, and Dillon has been healed. They now support other families going through similar trials and they are active in liver cancer research. Their e-mail as listed on the website is rclark94502@yahoo.com. Their address is also on the website. I am a Christian grandma who will pray for Sy and for you. I'm a member of Lincoln Ave. Church, 536 Lincoln Ave., Salinas -- between Salinas HS and the YMCA. It is a small but loving congregation and we would warmly welcome a visit from you. Our pastor is George Doyal and our Sunday service begins at 10:45 a.m.

Our hearts go out for the whole family. You watch your son change right before your eyes and wounder how this could be. The treatment then starts and all so many hoops and running around all so little time to share life with your son and time seems to wounder and the closeness that becomes gives you hope as you see your son grow right before your eyes and becomes such a wise man gives you the strenght to be calm and embraises the hope that some day we will all run and play like no other. When the time comes and they pass you will find peace they are free and taken care of. In the future you will find you will still teaching them as you see them teaching you. Life as we know it comes and goes but when we leave we are free and will become one with all.

  7. My prayers are with you. I also went through a rare lung disease when I was around Sy's age. I would really suggest doing some yoga, meditation, and breathing - they really help in lowering stress and keeping a smile on one's face :) You can check out: www.youthempowermentseminar.org which has done many many workshops in the Bay Area. You can also check out www.artofliving.org for programs for kids of Sy's age and for the parents as well.

  8. When I was sick with a rare disease as a child, under the guidance of Stanford I began alternative medication which was quite helpful. I am not sure how the situation is with cancer, but for me they helped. I would suggest Shubham Ayurveda in Palo Alto.

  9. A listener on KFAX recently forwarded Sy's story to me. I was moved by Sy's courage and particularly his question about how to pray to God. I am a pastor of a church in Morgan Hill and am available to talk with you and Sy about this and other questions you may have pertaining to spiritual matters. My phone # and emaill address are: 408.782.1619, pastor@trinitybiblechurch.org. My prayer for you and Sy is that you may experience the peace of God during this season of life and that you may both come to know His grace.

  12. Last year my co-workers and I from the SJ Airport chose Sy to donate a basket to with all his favorite things along with some gas cards for his dad after we read his story on the Mercury News. This year we wanted to send a card to let him know we are still thinking of him and praying for him. Your blog asks to send gift cards, but no address is given to send them to. Is there an address we can send a card and gift card to or can we give it to Wells Fargo to forward to you or something?
